TourOrDIY answers one question for America’s national parks: should you book a tour, or do it yourself, and what does each really cost? Most pages on this topic are opinion lists. We start from the numbers instead.
What we do
- Pull entrance fees, non-resident fees, passes and alerts for 63 national park entries from the National Park Service.
- Add monthly recreation visits from NPS IRMA Stats so you can see which months are busy.
- Give you calculators where you type in a real tour quote and your own costs. We never invent a tour price.
What we do not do
- We are not the National Park Service, a tour operator, or a booking agent. You do not book anything with us.
- We do not show prices we cannot source. If a number has no source and a date next to it, treat it as missing.
- No ads run on this site today. If that changes, this page and the affiliate disclosure will say so first.
How current is it?
The park data was last pulled on Oct 26, 2026. Every data block says when it was checked. We plan to refresh alerts and fees on a schedule; until then, always confirm at the park before you rely on a figure. See how we source and check things.
